ProTrak Configuration

Whether you are located in your firm's head office or satellite office, working from your home office or traveling with your laptop, ProTrak is available to you. ProTrak can be deployed in a variety of configurations:

  1. ProTrak Enterprise Network - A network server license for users located in the main office of an organization (i.e. in offices which house the majority of the company’s data). These offices may need to share their relationship management data between in-house users and/or multiple offices, branches or satellite locations.

ProTrak Network utilizes Microsoft SQL Server database technology. Since ProTrak provides a state-of-the-art, 3-tier design, there is no limit to the number of users that can be connected without sacrificing performance. In addition, ProTrak's "thin client" technology allows remote users to benefit from the improved performance that this technology provides. Depending on your firm's infrastructure, you can further enhance the system's performance by deploying a Citrix solution.

Note:
If a Microsoft SQL Server is currently not used or installed, ProTrak can provide a pre-packaged version for an additional cost.

  1. ProTrak Remote Network - A network server license for users who are located in a satellite or a branch office. These offices may want to maintain their data in their own locations, but synchronize it with the main office on a periodic, or "as needed" basis.

The ProTrak Remote Network license provides you with the ability to maintain your network data on a separate local Microsoft SQL Server. Data can be synchronized between the main and local network via a variety of options (see "Synchronization" below).

  1. ProTrak Mobile - an add-on mobile license for users who work in either the main office or a remote office, and need to take their data on the road and use ProTrak in a disconnected mode.(offline).

The ProTrak Mobile license gives users the ability to keep a copy of ProTrak programs with their data on a laptop. ProTrak automatically synchronizes the data between your laptop and network.

  1. ProTrak Remote/Mobile - for a single user representative who rarely works in the main office and is not connected to the corporate network. The Remote/Mobile user will always periodically synchronize with the main network or a remote network.

The ProTrak Remote/Mobile license provides remotely located representatives with a separate copy of the ProTrak programs and the user's specific territory data on their computer.

Synchronization:

  1. For deployments that include various remote network and remote/mobile users, we also provide an optional, fully automated, E-Mail Auto-Synchronization-Manager option. This allows the scheduling of synchronization between various locations on a pre-defined basis (day, time, type), utilizing Microsoft Exchange/Outlook or Lotus Notes.
  2. ProTrak maintains an internal transaction log that records each user's activity. Any data changes are synchronized on a field-by-field basis. Conflict resolution is seamlessly resolved using a built-in, proven process so that all data changes, even by multiple users, are maintained.
  3. Two way synchronization between remote ProTrak systems may be accomplished via a variety of options, depending on the users operating environment:
    1. Using your existing e-mail Outlook or Lotus Notes infrastructure
    2. WAN connection, if available
    3. Citrix connection, if available
    4. Windows Terminal Services connection, if available
